iPad Gesture Control

Control it like a wizard

I’m not sure about you, but I was drewling over Leap Motion back in the days it was causing fuzz in tech news and people bought it from Kickstarter, but it was too much money for me at the time.

A decade later I stumbled upon one, and I just had to try it out.

Basically it is an infrared sensor in a small hardware that senses your fingers with high framerate and precision and recognizes gestures.

I felt that almost every possible project had been done with it; view/rotate 3D-objects, handy gesture controls for apps, game controller etc.

However I never saw anyone trying to control their iPad with it. Think about it, just imagine every time you are looking at a recipe on your phone or tablet in the kitchen with dirty hands; this would definitely come in handy!

This project was made possible by connecting the LeapMotion to a Raspberry Pi, which then was connected to the iPad wireless over bluetooth, where my program emulated being a mouse-device and sending controls over that interface.
